The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department Training Section is committed to developing confident, capable, and mission-ready officers who serve our community with professionalism, integrity, and accountability. We provide modern, relevant, and scenario-driven training that prepares officers for the complex challenges of today’s law enforcement environment.

Our section within the Services Division, supports not only our own personnel, but also law enforcement agencies, fire departments, EMS providers, and other first responders across the region. We believe in strengthening the entire public-safety community through collaboration, shared standards, and access to high-quality training.

Training Sites & Facilities

We are proud to operate four dedicated training locations—each designed to provide safe, realistic, and high-performance training experiences:

Texarkana Arkansas Firearms Training Facility – 75 Acres

A state-of-the-art, purpose-built firearms training complex featuring:

Modern indoor and outdoor classrooms
Rifle and pistol ranges
Ballistic and impact-capable training areas
A 2,500 sq. ft. Simunition shoot house with elevated catwalk observation
Portable wall systems allowing for rapidly customizable room layouts
Space to run vehicle operations, tactical movement, and integrated scenario training

This facility provides unmatched capability for firearms development, tactical performance, and advanced officer survival training.

Union Training Center – 50,000 Sq. Ft.

A multi-disciplinary training hub designed for year-round instruction, including:

State-of-the-art academic classrooms
A full-service fitness center supporting officer health, wellness, and readiness
A large, climate-controlled shoot house with portable walls for dynamic scenario-based training
Space for defensive tactics, practical exercises, and specialized instruction

The Training Center serves as the division’s primary location for recruit education, instructor development, and advanced in-service training.
