The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has arrested Anthony Washington, B/M 08-20-71 DOB, for the robbery of the EXXON convenience store, 2324 North State Line Avenue, that occurred on Saturday morning. Washington entered the business and demanded money from the store clerk while advising that he had a gun. Washington left the business with an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene in the store clerks stolen 2000 maroon Dodge Stratus.
On Tuesday, March 3rd at 07:00AM, Officer Lloyd Douglas observed a white Dodge Durango travelling on State Line Avenue. Information was previously received that Washington may be travelling in a white Dodge Durango. Officer Douglas made a traffic stop on the vehicle and located Washington inside. Washington was arrested for aggravated robbery and theft over $2500. The driver of the vehicle was questioned and released by officers.
After the arrest, Washington was questioned by detectives, and revealed that the stolen Dodge Stratus was taken to a remote location on HWY 67 and burned. The vehicle was recovered by TAPD detectives. Washington is currently in jail at the Bi-State Justice Center.
