The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is increasing their efforts to make the public aware of the many needs in our community during this time of year.
Beginning Wednesday, December 3rd, and continuing through the Christmas Holidays, officers of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, who stop motorists for minor traffic violations and issue a warning citation, will also make motorists aware of needs within the community through the “Tickets for Tots” program. This “ticket” encourages motorists to help underprivileged children through a donation to a local charity’s Christmas toy drive. Participation in the program is completely voluntary for the citizen who receives the “Ticket for Tots”.
Chief Bob Harrison states, “With the depressed economy affecting so many people, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department recognizes that many children in the Texarkana area will not have a very bright holiday. This is our effort to put smiles on not only a motorist’s face, but on the face of children this holiday season”.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has a zero tolerance policy toward serious and life threatening traffic violations.
