In the early hours of Monday morning, October 6th 2008, Texarkana Arkansas Police responded to a reported breaking and entering of a vehicle in the 3800 Bock of Senator Street. While investigating the call Officer Ron Hudson heard what sounded like a vehicle window breaking in the area. Officer Hudson proceeded to the area, and observed several vehicles with their windows broken out. At the same time, Officer Hudson heard yet another apparent glass breaking just south of his location. As Officer Hudson approached a residence in the 1100 block of East 36th Street, Officer Hudson observed a suspect leaning inside the window of a vehicle and carrying what appeared to be a rife. Officers confronted the suspect and ordered him to put the weapon down. The suspect immediately threw the gun down and fled on foot. Officers pursued the suspect and Officer Christopher King was able to take overtake the suspect and place him in custody. The weapon collected by officers was a pellet gun that the suspect allegedly had been using to shoot the windows out of vehicles to gain entry. Officers located 10 vehicles in the area that had been vandalized. The suspect was identified as Thomas Michael Kirvin, W/M 20yoa, of Texarkana Arkansas.
Kirvin was arrested and charged with 10 counts of felony breaking or entering, and attempted breaking or entering, fleeing, refusal to submit to arrest, and possessing an instrument of a crime, all misdemeanors.
