Re: Felony Arrest Made in Recent Fatality Accident

Texarkana Arkansas Police Detective Sam McJunkins has arrested and charged Jesse Silva, W/M 41yoa, of Texarkana Arkansas for leaving the scene of an accident. Detective McJunkins began working the case of Thomas Eugene Longan, W/M 45yoa, of Texarkana Arkansas, who was killed last Saturday morning by a motor vehicle. McJunkins worked diligently on the case and was able to obtain information that Silva was the operator of the motor vehicle which struck Longan.

Silva is currently in the Miller County Jail and faces felony charges of leaving the scene of an accident. Had Silva stopped the vehicle and rendered aid, he would face only misdemeanor charges, if any at all. Anytime an accident may occur, even if it is simply property damage, you are required by law to stop and render aid along with report the incident to law enforcement officials.
