On Saturday, August 16th 2008, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Dept. will be at Wal-Mart, 133 Arkansas Blvd., starting at 9AM to provide child identification kits to parents. The ID kit contains valuable life saving information including fingerprints and a DNA sample. Officers with the police department will be available to fingerprint the children and provide safety information to parents.
Members of Girl Scout Troop #25 and #159 will also be at the event to help provide this service. In March of 2008 both Girl Scout Troop #25 and #159 made a $500.00 contribution to the police department. From the generous donation the police department was able to purchase the ID kits to provide to the community.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Dept. will be providing a life saving service that we hope to never have to utilize, but available in an emergency.
