On June 14th, 2008 at 08:30 A.M, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Dept. responded to a report of a motorcycle accident, at the intersection of HWY 196 and HWY 245. Upon arrival to the scene, officers discovered that a motorcycle had left the roadway while exiting Hwy 245 onto Hwy 196. The motorcycle and operator traveled over 60 feet down an embankment before coming to a final rest. The operator of the motorcycle, John David Stewart, W/M 49yoa, was pronounced dead at scene.
The investigation of this accident is ongoing.
