Off Duty Officer Thwarts Thefts In Sugarhill

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Dept. made five felony arrests early this morning, after locating five suspects in possession of stolen property. On Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008, at 4:00 A.M, an off-duty Texarkana Arkansas Police Officer observed five males jump out of a red truck and begin to steal property from different vehicles in the neighborhood. The off-duty officer called for police assistance, and gave out a vehicle description. While en route to the call, TAPD Officer, Christopher King, observed a red pickup truck with several occupants traveling in the immediate area of Sugarhill Road. A traffic stop of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of numerous stolen items, allegedly taken by the suspect’s during the night throughout the Sugarhill area. Property recovered included; electronic equipment, power tools, generators, air compressors, and fishing equipment. Many of the victims arrived at the scene and began to claim their stolen property. All five suspects were arrested, and each was charged with 6 counts of breaking and entering, theft over $500, and theft by receiving, all felony charges.

The suspects are identified as Aaron Borah, W/M 04/01/90, Justin Lovelis, W/M 10/14/88, and George Mills W/M 09/01/88. The other suspects are two juvenile white males and were transported to the Miller County Juvenile Detention Center.
