Domestic Dispute Results in Stabbing and a Felony Arrest

Texarkana Arkansas Police responded to 1415 East Broad Street, The Ritz Motel, on Saturday, May 31st, at 0130 hours, in reference to a stabbing call. When Officers arrived they located the victim, Alcus Kendricks, B/M 12/17/67, of Texarkana, lying on the floor with a significant amount of blood on his body. Kendricks suffered from a stab wound to his left upper chest and was transported immediately to Wadley Hospital for medical attention. It was determined during the investigation and from witness statements that the suspect, Erica Byrd, B/F 06/16/78, of Texarkana, stabbed Kendricks during a domestic dispute. After the incident, Byrd went next door to ask for help and to call the police. Byrd was arrested on scene and transported to the bi-state jail, where she was charged with felony, Battery 1st.

The investigation of the case continues.
