Civil Service Commission Meeting May 05, 2008 at 4:30 P.M

The Civil Service Commission will hold a regularly scheduled meeting in accordance with Arkansas State Statute on Monday, May 05, 2008, at 4:30 P.M at the Miller County Abstract Company located at 405 Walnut Street in Texarkana Arkansas.

The following is the proposed agenda involving the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department.

* Set a Saturday test date for the 2008 Promotional Examinations in October.

* Set a Saturday test date for the civil service test for police officer in October of 2008.

* Ask for the commission to add (2) points for military service (Civil Service Resolution 2008-01) to the promotional testing procedure. Under this change you can have military or collage but not both.

* Ask for the commission to approve the addition of lateral entry hiring, which allows the agency to give credit for up to five years of prior experience (Civil Service Resolution 2008-02).

* Discuss and propose changing the way the civil service promotional examination is graded
