An anonymous tip received through the local CrimeStoppers hotline led Texarkana Arkansas Police Detective, Sam McJunkins, to registered sex offender, Harold Wayne Lewis, W/M 02-12-42, who had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Det. McJunkins issued the warrant on Lewis back in July of 2007 for failure to register/ failure to comply with reporting requirements. This morning Det. McJunkins received the tip advising that Lewis was currently staying at a residence in Bowie County. At that time, Det. McJunkins, along with Deputy’s of the Bowie County Sherriff’s office, went to the residence where Lewis was ultimately located. The warrant was served and Lewis was taken to the Bowie County Jail, where he will be extradited to Texarkana Arkansas later this week.
Lewis was convicted and sentenced to ADC (Arkansas Department of Correction) in September of 2003 after pleading guilty to felony charge of Sexual Assault 2nd, where he served a five year sentence.
