Burglary Suspect Arrested

On February 27th, 2008 at 1:00 A.M. Texarkana Arkansas Police Officers responded to 2507 East 9th Street, Douglas Tobacco Company, in reference to an audible alarm. When Officers arrived on scene they discovered the front glass door had been smashed out and that the front office had been ransacked. It appeared to Officers that electronic equipment was missing from a desk located in the office. While Officers were conducting the investigation at the business, Officer Corwin Battle located a B/M carrying a laptop computer, along with other electronic equipment, in the 2400 block Delaware Street. Officer Battle made contact with the subject and he was identified as Andrew Ivory, 38 yoa, of Texarkana Arkansas. Ivory had cuts that were bleeding on his hands and broken glass fragments on his clothing. The owner of the business confirmed that all of the property Ivory had in his possession did belong to the business. In addition, the glass fragments found on Ivory’s clothing matched the glass fragments from the scene of the crime. Ivory was arrested and transported to the bi-state jail. Ivory has been charged with Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property over $500, both a felony.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is encouraged to notify TAPD or Texarkana area CrimeStoppers at 903-793-STOP.
