An Aggravated Assault suspect let the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department on a vehicle pursuit Thursday morning that began at the intersection of East Street and Loop 245. Texarkana Arkansas Cpl. Denise Wilder and Officer Eric Winter’s initiated a traffic on stop a gold Malibu that Officers knew to have been driven recently by a Christopher Alexander, B/M 31 yoa. Cpl. Wilder recognized the driver as Christopher Alexander who had an outstanding felony Aggravated Assault though Texarkana Arkansas Police Department. As Officers were approaching the vehicle Alexander put the vehicle in drive and sped away from the scene. Officers began to pursue Alexander in the fleeing vehicle. Alexander continued to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner and at high rate of speed. The pursuit continued into Texas at which time Alexander ultimately lost control of the vehicle causing a vehicle crash into a fence off the roadway. After the cash Alexander jumped out of the vehicle an attempted to get away from Officers by running though a field. Officers chased Alexander and apprehended him approximately 300 yards from the vehicle.
Alexander was arrested and transported to the bi-state jail where he was charged with the Aggravated Assault warrant and for possession of a controlled substance.
