On August 12, 2007 the city of Texarkana Arkansas started a neighborhood revitalization project in the Iron Mountain Division. While announcing the initiative to community members, Chief of Police Robert Harrison promised the police department would respond to their concerns about crime in the neighborhood. The Bi-State Narcotics Task force has obtained multiple warrants on several people that have been identified as being responsible for a significant amount of the street level drug activity in the Booker Street area.
A search warrant was executed at 1523 Booker on Wednesday, September 05, 2007. During the search warrant two arrests were made for “Delivery of a Controlled Substance”:
Arrested: Marcus Maxwell 9-22-71 of Texarkana Arkansas (Maxwell was out on bond for three other counts of delivery of controlled substance when arrested today)
Aquinas Jamil Green 11-26-80 of Texarkana Arkansas
The owner of the property will receive written notification that these two people were selling narcotics from the residence and if the activity occurs again the property may be subjected to seizure through the Arkansas Nuisance Abatement Laws.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will continue its efforts in conjunction with the residents and the other city departments to revitalize the Iron Mountain Neighborhood.
