Re: Online Accident Reports

Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department Accident Reports go Online for Public

In order to reduce the inconvenience and better serve the public, the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department has implemented a new online process for obtaining copies of accident reports. By employing cutting-edge technology provided by PoliceReports.US, LLC, citizens and insurers can now access accident reports from any computer via the internet, eliminating the need to travel to the police department or request a report by mail. While accident reports will still be available from the police department’s Records Division for a fee of $5.00, we are pleased to be able to offer the public the convenience of using this new, user friendly, online method. Starting Wednesday, June 7, accident reports generated on or after 6/1/2006 can be accessed at www.policereports.us. or by clicking on the accident report link on the city’s website at www.txkusa.org.

To search for a report, users can enter either the report number or the date of the accident and driver’s name. The report can then be printed immediately - at home or at the office. Should a person require a report prior to June 01, 2006, they can still retrieve it electronically by calling the Texarkana Police Department Records Division at (903) 798-3181. The report can then be uploaded within a matter of minutes in most cases.

Because this is a self-service feature available anytime of the day or week, members of the public should expend less time and effort to obtain the reports they need. In addition, the police department will also realize significant savings by reducing the time required to process requests for many reports each year. Electronic distribution of accident reports online will allow the police department to be more efficient while providing a higher level of customer service. Citizens will be able to obtain reports online (normally within 12 hours of the accident) instead of waiting in line. The charge for this service is $7.50 and is payable by major credit or debit card as well as by account through PoliceReports.US, LLC.

Of course, reports will still be available at the Records Division every day between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and midnight for those customers who desire to pick them up in person. The cost for those reports remains $5.00.
