On 4/20/06 at 12:15am Texarkana Arkansas Police Department patrol officers made several arrests in reference to possession of controlled substance.
While on routine patrol, officer Jeremy Gordon observed a dark blue Chevy Caprice cross the center line on State Line Avenue on several occasions. He initiated a traffic stop to check on the condition of the driver. Upon contacting the driver of the vehicle the officer noted that he immediately smelled the odor of fresh burnt marijuana coming from inside the car.
The driver and three other occupants of the vehicle were removed and the vehicle was searched. A zip-lock plactic bag was located in the vehicle that contained approximately one-quarter pound of suspected marijuana. The suspected marijuana was located in an area that was accessible to all of the occupants of the car. Each suspect denied any knowledge of the suspected marijuana.
A further search of the vehicle located a small bag which contained 5 pills that are suspected to be hydrocodone.
All of the occupants were arrested and each was charged with a count of possession of controlled substance and possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver. The driver was identified as Caleb Calk (w/m/20 Emerson, AR). The three passengers were identified as Marco Carter (b/m/22), Landrell Cooper (b/m/26, and Tory Johnson (b/m/23), all of Waldo, AR. The charges in this case are felonies, and each suspect has been booked into jail. No bond has been set at this time.
