Re: Detectives Solve Multiple Burglary Cases

Texarkana Arkansas Police Detectives have cleared multiple burglary cases following the recent arrest of three suspects. Lee Saffel (w/m/22yoa Texarkana, AR) was arrested following a traffic stop on 1/19/06. During the course of the traffic stop officers located stolen car speakers and a stolen amplifier in the suspect's vehicle. After an in depth investigation was conducted by detectives, evidence was discovered which linked Saffel to two other suspects, James Williams (w/m/21yoa Texarkana, AR) and Zack Burows (w/m/21yoa Texarkana AR).

In the course of the investigation evidence from several separate cases was recovered which led to suspect Williams being charged with 8 separate counts of breaking or entering and one count of theft of a firearm. Burrows has been charged with 2 counts of breaking or entering and one count of theft by receiving, and Saffel has been charged with theft by receiving. These are all felony charges.

Detectives estmate that between $5,000 to $6,000 worth of stolen stereo equipment has been recovered at this point and more is expected as the investigation continues. Each of the suspects are being held at the Bi-State Justice Center Jail and no bond has been set at this time.

Detectives advise that the suspects in this case burglarized vehicles in residential areas of the city as well as dealership lots. In residential areas the suspects burglarized vehicles in which the doors were already unlocked, and they rarely forced entry into the cars.

Again, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department encourages all residents to ensure that their vehicle doors are locked before leaving them unattended. In addition to this step, residents should also ensure that no valuables are left in view inside the vehicle. Citizens are encouraged to call 911 regarding any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
