Texarkana Arkansas Police Officers located what is considered to be a "dealer amount" of methamphetamine during a Thursday evening traffic stop. Detectives with the Bi-State Narcotics Task Force along with Texarkana Arkansas Police patrol officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver commit numerous moving violations. The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of Division and East Street.
After officers made contact with the driver, she gave consent to search the vehicle and it's contents. After all ocupants had exited the vehicle a search was conducted. During the course of the search officers located a pill bottle in the back seat of the car which contained approximately 7.9 grams of what is believed to be "ICE". ICE is an extremely pure form of methamphetamine, and it reportedly gives the user a much more intense high. Since this particular form of the drug is so pure it is generally sold in weights of 1/8th to 1/4 gram at a time. The total street value of the suspected narcotics in this case is $1,500.00.
The back seat passenger, Kyle Davis (w/m/19yoa Texarkana, AR) was arrested for possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver. Due to the fact that the pill bottle contained such a quantity of suspected ICE, Davis' charge is enhanced. This is considerably more methamphetamine than we normally see for personal use.
Davis was arrested and jailed at the Bi-State Justice Center. No bond has been set at this time.
