Re: Tobacco Store Burglary Arrest

Texarkana Arkansas Police Officers arrested a suspect in connection with a tobacco store burglary that occurred on today's date at approximately 3:30am. The suspect, Nathan Lee Duncan (24yoa., Texarkana AR.), was arrested after a brief vehicle pursuit that began at the Discount Tobacco N'More Store at 3809 E.9th St.

Ofc. Jeremy Gordon was patrolling the area around 3800 E.9th when he heard glass breaking near the area of the tobacco store. Ofc. Gordon observed a suspect vehicle parked in front of the store and as he approached the scene in his patrol car, the suspect vehicle hurriedly fled the parking lot. Ofc. Gordon activated his lights and siren and the suspect vehicle failed to stop. After a brief pursuit the suspect was stopped on the Loop 245 on-ramp and arrested for fleeing from police. Other patrol officers that were responding to assist advised that the front glass door at the Discount Tobacco N' More had indeed been broken out with a large rock. Officers advised that it did appear as though the store had been entered, however at this time it is unknown what merchandise may have been taken.

The suspect was arrested for commercial burglary and the case remains under investigation by detectives.
