It’s time once again to extend Christmas cheer. The annual Cops and Kids Night has been scheduled for Monday December the 5th. Police Officers from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will meet at the station at 5:00pm and form two convoys; one parade formation will travel to the Texarkana Baptist Orphanage and the other to Watersprings Ranch.
The children will ride with a Police Officer in a Patrol Car to Pizza Inn at 5200 North Stateline. The Annual Cops and Kids program is a spirit of fellowship that takes place during the holiday season and it reinforces the positive aspects of community and Police relationships. These kids look forward to this event every year and we anticipate greeting and feeding sixty kids. If you have not had the opportunity to take part in this event please join us this year. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.
Cops and Kids December 13th, 2004. 5:30pm. Pizza Inn 5200 N. Stateline Texarkana, AR. Please try to attend this event. You can ride from the station with an Officer or meet us there, but we would appreciate your presence.
The busy week continues on Thursday Dec 8th at 8:00am. This is when area police officers and firefighters will meet at the Bi-State Center and convoy to Wal-Mart at 133 Arkansas Blvd. We will arrive at Wal-Mart at 9:00am. At this time each officer/firefighter will be paired with a needy child from our area. Each child will be given $100 in order to do their Christmas shopping at the store. This event is funded through proceeds from the annual Battle of the Badges Football Game and Softball Tournament, along with matching funds from the Arkansas Wal-Mart. In addition to these sources, donations have been provided by several local businesses as well as numerous private citizens.
This event is something that you must see to truly appreciate!
We request that if at all possible you attend to show support for these causes which touch the lives of so many children in this community. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions regarding either of these events.
