Re: Shooting Incident at Ingram Homes

On 7/14/05 at 2:14am patrol officers were called to #281 Ingram Homes in regard to a report of a shooting. As they arrived on scene, officers located the victim, Trina Jackson, lying near apartment #295. The victim told officers that she had been shot by the suspect, Phyllis Dawson. Although Jackson had suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg, she was able to provide officers with an accurate description of the suspect and suspect vehicle. Within minutes of the shooting officer Gabe Overstreet located a red Dodge pickup in the 2400 block of E.24th St. A traffic stop was conducted and officers identified the driver of the vehicle as Earnest Solomon. The suspect, Phyllis Dawson, was located in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Based on evidence and witness reports at the scene both occupants of the truck were arrested and taken into custody. Dawson has been charged with Battery 1st and Solomon has been charged as an accomplice to Battery 1st. They were taken to the Bi-State jail for booking. No bail has been set. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation by detectives.
