Join us for the second Annual Public Safety Softball Tournament to benefit Shop with a Cop and Firefighter

On Saturday, May 21st, 2005 at 8:00am, the second annual public safety softball tournament will be held at Grady Wallace Park in Texarkana Texas. All proceeds will go to benefit the Shop with a Cop and Firefighter Program. The “Shop With A Cop and Firefighter Charity” is an opportunity for Public Safety employees to team up with Texarkana Wal-Mart Supercenters to bring Christmas cheer to less fortunate children from our area.

This softball event is called the Battle of the Badges (softball) and is held annually with the football game of the same name. Teams from the Texarkana Arkansas and Texas Police and Fire Departments along with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Bowie County Sheriffs Department, and other local Public Safety offices will be participating in this charity event.

The event is open to the public. Donations are appreciated but not required and T-Shirts will be sold at the games. People will also have the opportunity to dunk Law Enforcement Officer or Fire Fighter in the “Dunking Booth.” It’s all for fun and a good cause, and we encourage everyone to bring their family and friends.
