This morning (04/03/05) at 4:45am pm Texarkana Arkansas Patrolman responded to a one-vehicle accident on I-30 near the four-mile marker. A 49 year-old white male and a 48 year-old white female of Carrolton Texas, was ejected from a 2004 Ford F-150. The white male driver was found deceased upon officers arrival at the crash site. The passenger was taken to St. Michaels Hospital. An eight year-old white female that was safety belted in the vehicle was also transported to St. Michaels. The child suffered minor injuries and is expected to recover. The 48 year-old female was in surgery at the time of this release and is listed as critical.
Officers determined that the vehicle was traveling westbound on I-30 when it entered the median and began to roll. It came to rest in the eastbound lane of I-30 on its passenger side.
No determinations have been in reference to the use of seat belt by the driver and front passenger and the possible cause of the accident.
The name of the deceased as not been released pending notification of next of ken.
