Re: One Arrest Made In Shooting Incidents

Members of the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department continue to conduct an intensive investigation into a series of shootings that occurred in the early evening hours of 01-29-05. Following the shootings, members of the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Patrol, Criminal Investigation, and Special Operations, and Services Divisions conducted numerous searches and interviews.

Based on information received, and analysis of records, investigators began to search for two suspects, Michael Dallas Hodge, B/M, 22 of Texarkana, Texas, and McEntry Neal, B/M, 25 of Texarkana, Arkansas.

At approximately 11:30pm last night, as members of the department were beginning to search the residence of McEntry in the 3500 block of Oakhill Street in Texarkana, Arkansas, McEntry was taken into custody without incident at the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department. McEntry surrendered to officers and detectives, and was charged with three counts of Battery 1st Degree. Additional charges of Terroristic Act and Aggravated Assault are anticipated. Officers and Detectives seized a vehicle allegedly owned by McEntry that was used in the commission of the shootings. That vehicle is being secured at the TAPD Special Operations Building where a search warrant is being executed for evidence associated with the shootings.

A felony warrant was issued out of Arkansas for Michael Dallas Hodge for Battery 1st Degree as members of the Texarkana, Texas Police Department and the Bowie County Sheriff’s Department established a perimeter around Hodge’s Texarkana, Texas residence. Members of the Texarkana Metro-SWAT Team later entered the residence to conduct a search, which failed to turn up Hodge.

A nation-wide BOLO was issued for Michael Hodge, and the investigation continues this morning. Hodge also faces additional charges of Terroristic Act and Aggravated Assault.

According to Chief Robert Harrison, “The resources of the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department were taxed last night. Third shift officers were called in early, and second shift officers were held over. Members of the Texarkana, Texas Police Department Patrol Division assisted in backing calls in Texarkana, Arkansas during the overnight incident.” The department is asking for assistance from the public in locating Michael Hodge. He should be considered “Armed and Extremely Dangerous”. Hodge is believed to be armed with a handgun and an assault rifle. Hodge is still believed to be in the Texarkana area. Chief Harrison also stated “Any person who provides assistance or sanctuary to Michael Hodge faces potential Felony Charges”. Any person with information related to the location of Hodge is asked not to approach him, but to immediately contact 911.
