Re: Zero Tolerance on Litter Laws

The Governor’s Council on Litter Law Enforcement is vigorously working on several projects that have real potential for enhancing the enforcement efforts being made to curtail the litter problem plaguing our the State of Arkansas and the Texarkana Arkansas community.

As part of these aggressive efforts, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will be paying particular attention to littering violations in our city and take the appropriate enforcement action when they witness a violation.

The reality is that prospective businesses and residents will recognize the overall appearance of a community. This could be a determining factor for anyone looking to move to our community. A cleaner community instills a sense of ownership, responsibility, pride, and respect. While littering is not a major crime issue, it is a quality of life issue that directly impacts all of us.  The overall appearance of our community could be greatly improved through aggressive enforcement of litter laws.

While we always appreciate voluntary compliance of litter laws, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will be actively looking for violators who throw trash out their vehicles.  Together, we have an opportunity to make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family.
