Reports indicated that an armed man involved in a disturbance in the Wake Village area had taken his 2 year-old son and was traveling to 2114 Grand. Corporal Scott Megason and Patrolman Eric Beach intercepted the vehicle and performed a traffic stop at Short 21st and Grand. The driver a 22 year-old male refused to exit the vehicle and sped away as officers approached them. A vehicle chase ensued which ended when the driver stopped in a driveway on Lavender Lane. Before offices could exit their vehicle the 22 year-old driver exited his truck and fatally shot himself.
