Re: Boone Conspiracy Case

Following the arrests of a 16 year old Texarkana area male, Margaret Boone (ex-wife of intended victim Richard Boone), and Brentley Boone, (son of intended victim Richard Boone), the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department was required to conduct additional interviews of suspects and witnesses involved in the case.

The Conspiracy case stems from sporadic reports in 2003, which indicated that Margaret Boone was seeking assistance in having her ex-husband, Richard Boone, killed for life insurance funds.  The case ran from 2003 through the first half of 2004 due to the number of witnesses and suspects that were involved, along with a tremendous amount of documentation that was subpoenaed through the 8th Judicial Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and Circuit Courts.  Detectives determined that a suspect $100,000.00 life insurance policy was possibly involved, which listed Margaret Boone as the benefactor.

The investigation revealed that at least two attempts were made on the life of Richard Boone in 2003, one of which involved Margaret Boone, Brentley Boone, and the 16-year-old juvenile.  The first attempt allegedly involved Margaret Boone.  The investigation revealed that Margaret Boone had allegedly solicited the assistance of several persons in exchange for money or other items of value.  At the time of the alleged solicitation and conspiracy, Margaret and Brentley Boone were residents of Texarkana, Arkansas following their move from the Houston, Texas area.  At the time of the alleged conspiracy and attempts on his life, Richard Boone was a resident of the Houston, Texas area.

Although no additional arrests are anticipated, the investigation continues with follow-up interviews.

Margaret Boone is currently incarcerated in the Miller County Jail on a $200,000.00 Bond.

Brentley Boone is currently incarcerated in the Miller County Jail on a $75,000.00 Bond.

The 16 year old juvenile has been arrested, processed, and released to his parent / guardian pending his next court appearance.  No final decision has been made by the Prosecuting Attorney regarding his status as a Juvenile / Adult.
