Today at 2:14 pm Texarkana Arkansas Patrolman responded to a one-vehicle accident on highway 245 near the intersection of Genoa Road. 19 year-old Candace Breckweg of Texarkana Arkansas was ejected from a 2000 Dodge Neon she was driving. She has subsequently died from injuries received as a result of the crash. A passenger in the car, 20 year-old Johnny Lovelis of Texarkana Arkansas survived the crash and was taken to a local Hospital. He is currently in stable condition and expected to recover.
Accident Reconstructionist Todd Harness has determined that the vehicle was traveling south bound on highway 245 when it veered west off the roadway and began to roll. It came to rest on the west side of 245.
Officer Harness is currently investigating the cause of the crash. No determinations have been in reference to the use of seat belt or the possible cause of the accident.
