Re: Aggravated Assault of Family or Household Member, A04-5918

On 08/10/04 at 9:40am Texarkana Arkansas Officers responded to a 24 year-old battered woman at St. Michaels Hospital. The woman suffered from several contusions to the back of head that required staples. She also suffered a fractured wrist and multiple scratches and bruises to her upper torso and shoulder areas.

The victim reported that she had been attacked while she was sleeping, by her ex-boyfriend, 27 year-old Ronald Preston Wickware of Texarkana Arkansas.

On 08/09/04 Wickware waited for her to get off work and met her in the parking lot where he convinced the victim to go with him to talk about their relationship. She got into his car and they drove to his apartment. The victim agreed to stay with Wickware for the night. The victim was awaked to Wickware hitting her with a blunt object in the back of head. The victim struggled for a short time with Wickware and was then able to persuade Wickware to stop his attack. Wickware later drove her back to her car in the morning hours. A family member drove her to the hospital where the victim was treated and later released.

Ronald Preston Wickware of Texarkana Arkansas has been arrested and charged with Felony Aggravated Assault of Family or Household Member and is being held in Bi-State Jail. No bond has been set at this time.
