Saturday night Texarkana Arkansas Detectives working with the Patrol Division Gang Unit, Special Operations, and K-9 Units located and arrested three juveniles and one adult as part of a Gang Interdiction Operation and further arrests are anticipated.
The arrests come after several weeks of investigations by the Criminal Investigation Divisions Juvenile Unit and Patrol Divisions’ Gang Unit.
18 year-old Lamont Floyd and three juveniles ages 15 to 16 are just some of the arrests made of gang members calling themselves the “Charles Street Boys” or “Ten Fours”. The gang members have been charged with felony counts of Battery 2nd, Criminal Mischief, and Engaging in Violent Criminal Group Activity for their involvement in an assault and vandalism that occurred on 07/2/04, which put two victims in the hospital.
After Chief Bob Harrison was appointed in 1990, he recognized a growing problem with gangs and formed a Gang Unit to eliminate gang violence and destruction. The Gang Unit set out identifying and systematically bringing criminal gang members to justice. Since that time gang activity in Texarkana Arkansas has been relatively low. These recent arrests demonstrate the enduring commitment that the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department and Chief Harrison has to eliminate criminal gang activity.
