The Texarkana Police Department will hold an awards ceremony on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. in the Texarkana Police Training Facility located on the first floor of the Bi-State Criminal Justice Center. Chief Harrison will be available after the ceremony in the Training Facility to provide brief interviews if desired.
Chief Harrison will recognize the following Officers’ of the Quarter.
The designation of Corporal is the first in history for the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department. The designation recognizes those officers that have complete ten or more years of employment or experience, and have not made been promoted to any greater rank. This designation has several beneficial elements. It helps the public and newer officers recognize those officers with experience, it provides better command structure in the event of emergency or critical incident, and it brings a greater sense of respect to those officers that have given so much to the agency and the community.
