On Tuesday, August 3rd from 7 to 10 pm neighborhoods throughout Texarkana Arkansas will be turning their lights on and spending the evening outside with Texarkana Arkansas Police Officers celebrating the “21st Annual National Night Out.”
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for, and participate in, local anticrime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships, and send a message to criminals that your neighborhood is organized and fighting back.
Many neighborhoods throughout Texarkana Arkansas will be hosting block parties, cookouts, while visiting with their local police officers.
National Night Out will involve over 10,000 communities in all 50 states and is supported by the Department of Justice. In all, over 34 million people are in 10,000 communities are expected to participate in National Night Out.
Even the NASA International Space Station will be participating in NNO 2004 and will be sending a message from space to all National Night Out areas during the day on August 3rd.
