Re: Officers and Citizens Working Together Solves Crime

Working together with witnesses and a victim, a Texarkana Arkansas Patrol Officers was able to retrieve the victim’s property, solve a vehicle burglary and arrest the suspect an hour after he got the call.

Patrolman Erick Meadows was investigating the burglary of a vehicle in the 300 block of Fairview when witnesses described the suspect, as the victim and he listened. The victim then relayed to Officers Meadows that the witnesses described a man that had visited him at him home earlier in the day. The victim also informed Officer Meadows where he might find the alleged suspect. Officer Meadows went to this location and talked to a female that denied knowing the suspect while the suspect attempted to run out the back door. Another officer met the suspect as he opened the back door. The suspect then ran back in the house, locking the door behind him. Officers had already surrounded the house. Officers remained at the front door and convinced the man to come out without incident. Officers located the stole property in a room of the house the suspect had been staying in.

18 year-old James Edward Davis of Texarkana Arkansas was arrested on charges of Breaking and Entering and an unrelated warrant for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He is currently in jail at Bi-State and no bond has been set.
