Re: Suspicious Person Concerns sparks Stranger Danger reinforcement.

On Friday 06/04/04, two concerned parents called the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department to report a suspicious person. The parents had seen a white male driving an older brown Dodge car driving slowly through their neighborhood on several occasions. According to reports, the older white male would drive by at slow speeds and stare at young girls playing in their yards. The white male had been seen driving through the 1600 and 1700 blocks off Stateline Ave. since school let out. The white male is described as being in his fifties, brown hair, with no facial hair and is a smoker.

You may remember that a member of Texarkana Arkansas Police Department visited schools of all levels in our jurisdiction and spoke with the students about “Stranger Danger.” This is an excellent program, which can help you and your child prevent being a victim and escape if a stranger tries to kidnap them. Take this opportunity, now that the children are out of school, to utilize Stranger Danger training, role-play with your children and teach them to recognize a potentially dangerous situation.

Please visit our website (http://www.txkusa.org/arkpolice) for information about the Stranger Danger program. Just click on the site map on the upper part of the Home Page and look under Crime Prevention. You can also call us at 903-798-3130 for more information.
