Miranda Ward, white female, 7 years old, was reported missing from the 900 block of Short Horn St. near the Lakewood state area of Texarkana Arkansas at 8:30pm yesterday. Officers from every division of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department joined in the search for the girl. Investigators were also unable to locate the child’s mother Tonya Ward after exhausting all efforts to the contrary. As the investigation continued through the night and early morning hours the Officers began to alert the surrounding media for assistance. During the notification of the missing child to the media groups in our area, the mother returned home with the child. Officers were satisfied that the child was returned home safely and say that the incident is the result of miscommunication between family members.
