Re: Band Director arrested for sexual relationship with 13 year-old student.

On Tuesday 04/27/04 at 2:15pm officers with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department were dispatched to the administrative offices of the Arkansas School District at 3512 Grand St. in reference to a sexual assault. A school official reported that a parent of a 13 year-old white female made allegations that his 13 year-old daughter was involved in a sexual relationship with 27 year-old North Heights Junior High School Band Director Charlie Perez.

The girl’s father provided detectives with copies of emails between Perez and his daughter, which contained suggestions of a sexual relationship. The emails suggested and the investigation revealed an established relationship.

Detectives arrested Charlie Perez on charges of Rape following an interview at Bi-State on Tuesday at 5:00pm. Perez remains in the custody of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department and his bond as not been set at this time.
