Re: Series of drug arrests at the Bus Station.

On 02/25/04 at 3:15pm, Texarkana Arkansas Police Department’s Special Operations Unit Officers John Gibbert and Lloyd Douglas along with their K-9 partners located a black bag containing two ounces of powder cocaine and a small bag of marijuana while working narcotics interdiction at the Greyhound Bus Station on E. 51st Street. The drugs have street value of $11,300.00.

Officers arrested 40-year-old John Allen of Cleveland, Ohio for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver in connection with this crime. Allen was traveling from Los Angeles to Ohio.

At approximately 11:50am today, K-9 Officers Gibbert and Douglas were again working narcotics interdiction at the Greyhound Bus Station on E. 51st Street and located three separate containers of illegal drugs on a bus traveling from Dallas to Little Rock. Officers located a black suitcase containing 37 individually plastic bags of marijuana in the overhead compartment of the bus, A clear plastic bag containing over two ounces of methamphetamine was located in a trash can in the bathroom of the bus. Another clear plastic bag of methamphetamine was found under a seat in the bus. The marijuana has street value of $2000.00. The methamphetamine has a street value of $33,000.00.

No arrest have made at this time in connection with the discovery of the methamphetamine.

Officers arrested 30 year-old Carlos Brown of Dallas, Texas for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver - marijuana.
