Re: Armed Robberies, A04-0694, A04-0875, and A04-1315

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is currently investigating a series of robberies. Detectives believe that all of these cases are related and that the suspect may also be responsible for two other robberies on the Texas side.

On 01/28/04 at 1:15am Texarkana Arkansas patrol officers responded to a robbery at Hampton Inn, 5300 N. Stateline. A female clerk at the Inn advised officers that a black male came through the front set of doors in the foyer and then attempted to enter the set of glass doors which where locked, for security purposes. The black male began kicking the doors and hitting the doors while the clerk called 911. The clerk described the black male as 5’2” to 5’4” small in build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. The suspect wore the hood over his face. Officers later found pieces of a handgrip for a pistol on the floor where the suspect had struck the doors.

On 02/03/04 at 4:45pm officers responded to Hampton Inn, 5300 N. Stateline. A man staying at the Inn reported that a black male entered his room and robbed him at gunpoint. The black male took the man’s wallet and fled on foot. The man described the black male as 5’8” to 5’10” medium build wearing gray hooded sweatshirt and matching gray sweatpants. The suspect obscured his face by wearing the hood to the sweatshirt over it.

On 02/20/04 at 9:33pm officers responded to a robbery at Quality Inn, 5210 North Stateline. A female clerk at the Inn told officers that a black male had robbed her at gunpoint. The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with maroon writing on the front. The hood of the sweatshirt was tied tightly around his head and face area and he was wearing blue jeans with white tennis shoes. The suspect demanded money and clerk complied with these demands. The clerk was not harmed and the suspect was last seen fleeing north on foot from the Inn.

The suspect in this case is considered armed and dangerous. We ask that anyone having information about this crime to call the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 903-793-7867(STOP).
