The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is committed to stopping narcotics trafficking and as part of our commitment the Texarkana Arkansas Narcotics Interdiction program was established. Drug trafficker’s employee all means of transportation to move drugs therefore one method of interdiction is to diligently patrol all major highways running through Texarkana, including Interstate 30. The deployment of K-9 units is a regular part of this effort.

At approximately 1:21pm today, Officer Lloyd Douglas and his K-9 partner Bruno of the Texarkana Arkansas Narcotics Interdiction Unit stopped a car on I-30 at the 4-mile marker for a traffic violation. Further investigation led Officer Douglas to obtain consent to search the vehicle where he located two kilo’s of powder cocaine in a duffel bag in the trunk of the vehicle. The drugs have a street value of approximately $100,000.00. The driver was also found to be in possession of a large amount of cash.

39 year-old Vincent Roland Washington of Springfield, MA was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. The drugs and money in his possession were confiscated. Washington is currently in jail at the Bi-State Justice Center and no bond as been set.
