On 4-18-16, the Texarkana Police Department responded to a vacant building located in the 2600 block of County Avenue in reference to a report from a private citizen who owned a supply of military novelty items dating back to the Korean and Vietnam War era.
Due to standard police department safety protocols for handling old, outdated military devices, a quick cursory inspection of the military relics by the responding officers created the need for referral to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATF) for further assistance. Members of the BATF Little Rock Division responded to the scene and collected the military relics, who determined the relics to be inert.
The inert military devices were removed from the building by BATF members to be handled in accordance with their protocols.
