On Thursday, June 27th, 2013 at 10:00am, Mark Wilson with The REACH Foundation will be at the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department to present a $5000.00 donation for the Shop with a Cop program. Mr. Wilson was moved to assist in our program after observing a past Shop with a Cop event. For the past 19 years Officers have provided 100 children from Texarkana, Arkansas with a $100 shopping spree at Wal-Mart just before the Christmas holiday. Ties to the Police Department were further strengthened when Officer Payton Harris rescued Mr. Wilson’s mother from her residence that was fully engulfed in flames months later.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson have continually sought out children in the Texarkana area whose lives they can make a difference in. The REACH Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Mark and Wendy Wilson to help children in need – physically, socially, and financially. The REACH Foundation was originally established to financially aid educational scholarships, continued education and training for educators, unique and beneficial educational programs, and programs that encourage social and responsibility in and out of the classroom.
The focus of REACH has expanded to include children with physical, social and financial issues. The primary mission of The REACH Foundation is to reach out to advocate and help children in need and to provide programs to improve their environment. Mark Wilson is a former resident of Texarkana Arkansas and in 2002 helped established the Texarkana Arkansas Education Foundation. REACH's mission is simple....."If in only one life, make a difference". You can find more information at http://thereachfoundation.org/
Please join us in the Texarkana Arkansas Training Room of the Bi-State Justice Center at 10:00am on June 27, 2013 to accept this generous donation.
