On Saturday, October 29, 2011, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, along with the entire state of Arkansas, will hold its third annual statewide Prescription Drug Take Back Day, as part of a national effort by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Residents can bring their used, expired, and unwanted household drugs to the TAPD Wal-Mart Substation on Arkansas Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for proper disposal.
It is all of our responsibility to protect our youth against prescription drug abuse and to protect the environment by properly disposing of outdated and un-used prescription drugs. “This is a tremendous opportunity for people to make a difference in the efforts to stop prescription abuse”, says Officer Kristi Mitchell.
