Re: Two Arrests Made in Robbery

On Monday, May 10, 2011 at 8:00pm officers responded to 3000 block of Hickory Street in reference to a residential burglary. Upon arrival officers located the victim, Holly Sweesy, W/F 29yoa, who advised officers that while inside her residence she heard her dogs began to bark loudly and the sound of an air compressor turning on, which was located on her back porch. Sweesy went outside to investigate, discovering that unknown suspects had tampered with the air compressor in an apparent attempt to steal it. While checking the area she was struck in the head by an unknown object. This caused Sweesy to become unconscious and fall to the ground. After a short time Sweesy’s roommate arrived home and found her lying in the backyard. Prior to her arrival the roommate noted two white males running from the area that appeared to be suspicious.

A description of the suspects were given to officers and moments later Officer Payton Harris located suspects, Jesse Burns W/M 29yoa, and Jerry Bellew W/M 29yoa, both of Texarkana, in the 3100 block of Garland Avenue.

Both Burns and Bellew were arrested for strong arm residential robbery. Burns faces additional charges of procession of marijuana.

Sweesy suffered minor injuries during this incident.
