Early Sunday morning on March 6, 2011 at 2:30 a.m. officers responded to 401 East Broad Street, The Coliseum, in reference to an assault in progress. Upon officers arrival they located Nicholas Lancaster, W/M 22yoa, lying on the ground outside of the establishment. Lancaster was unresponsive and had a significant amount of blood on his head and face. Lancaster was immediately transported to Wadley Hospital by Life Net for medical assistance
It was initially reported that Lancaster was involved in an altercation with 4 other individuals inside the establishment. Employee, Lee Burton, B/M 24yoa, assisted in breaking up the altercation and removed Lancaster from inside the establishment. Further investigation revealed Burtons actions caused Lancaster’s injuries prior to him being removed from the club. These injuries included multiple facial fractures and brain bleeding.
Burton was arrested on March 10, 2011 for aggravated assault and battery 2nd. At this time, Lancaster has been released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
