On September 25, 2010 from 10:00am – 2:00pm the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will take part in Operation Prescription Drug Take Back. Citizens can bring their unused and out of date prescription drugs to the designated drop off site located at the Texarkana, AR Police Substation inside Wal-Mart at 133 Arkansas Boulevard. Uniformed police officers will be on hand to take the prescription drugs and answer any questions concerned citizens may have. Once operation Prescription Drug Take Back is over all the medications turned over will be destroyed according to DEA regulations and State laws.
This is a vital operation due to the increasing problem across the nation with prescription drug abuse. This will help insure the integrity of our water supplies while at the same time prevent the abuse of left over prescription drugs, removing the temptation from curious children and teenagers. If anyone has any questions they can contact the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department at (903)798-3130.
