At 2:00pm on August 5th, 2010 Texarkana, AR police officers responded to possible drowning call at Foxcreek Apartments in the 4300 block of County Ave. On arrival it was discovered that the victim was a fourteen year old boy who had been swimming in the complex pool. His grandmother and two siblings were present. The victim’s grandmother realized the child was in distress when he appeared to be unconscious in the deep end of the pool. The family began calling out for help while trying to get him out as no one else in the party could swim. A nearby resident from another apartment complex heard the cries for help and ran to assist, jumping two fences to get there. Once the victim was pulled from the water it was noticed that he had an abrasion to his forehead area, but it is unknown how the abrasion was caused. Fire and EMS personnel worked several minutes to revive the victim on scene. He was then transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center and is being airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock at the time of this release.
