RE: Fatality Motocycle Crash

On November 19th, at 8:29pm, Officers responded to the Hwy 71 exit ramp of Hwy 245 and Hwy 549,   in reference to a fatality accident involving a motorcycle.  Upon investigation it was determined to be a single vehicle motorcycle crash.  The operator was identified as Kevin McCraw, W/M 59yoa, of Texarkana, who was pronounced dead at the scene.  Investigation revealed McCraw had exited Hwy 549 towards Hwy 71.  In the negotiation of the curve, McCraw locked his back brake and lost control, causing the motorcycle to go down.  McCraw was launched form the motorcycle, striking his head on the pavement.  McCraw was not wearing a helmet.
