Biography of Corporal Sonyah Tate

Corporal Sonyah Tate was hired with the Texarkana Police Department July 1989. She attended the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy, located in E. Camden, Arkansas, where she received her Arkansas Law Enforcement certification.

Corporal Tate began her career in the Patrol Division and then moved to the Services Division, where she became a Drug Abuse Resistance Education Instructor for the Region VII School District. She later transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division accepting a Juvenile Detective position and later moved to the Crimes Against Persons/Domestic Violence Section. After eight-years in the Criminal Investigation Division, Corporal Tate transferred to Personnel & Training Section, where she is currently the agency’s Personnel and Recruiting Officer.
